HOME AND COMMUNITY GARDENS ARE THE FOUNDATION OF OUR WORK IN GUATEMALA.
Gardens provide healthy food and additional income for those families with enough yield to sell at local markets.
When we support agricultural production, it is always with sensitivity to traditional culture and to Mother Earth. We provide workshops that teach farmers about seed saving, permaculture techniques, rainwater collection, and soil conservation so that they will not only be successful, but also sustainable. We also encourage experienced farmers to teach us—and each other—about traditional agricultural techniques that have evolved in response to the harsh climatic conditions in Guatemala.
